Bob Close, FASLA
Bob has led a successful design practice based in the Twin Cities for over 40 years. His work has focused on the public realm – the community commons. He is a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Urban Land Institute and served on their Advisory Board for over a decade. He is a long-standing member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (elected as a Fellow in 2007) and is a charter member of the Congress for New Urbanism. He was also elected to Lambda Alpha International, an honorary society for the advancement of land economics.
Bob taught design studios for more than 20 years in the College of Design at the University of Minnesota as an Adjunct Professor in Practice. He remains engaged as an associate of the Minnesota Design Center, a research and design branch of the College and an occasional guest critic in design studios.
